Hosting AP Biology and biology virtual camps for middle and high school students throughout the year for middle and high school students is a commendable initiative by the Department of Biological Sciences. These programs offer invaluable opportunities for students to delve deep into the world of biology, providing rigorous academic content and hands-on experiences in a dynamic virtual environment. By offering AP Biology camps, we empower students to excel in their studies, providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in advanced coursework and standardized exams.

Program Highlights:

  • These virtual biology camps are weeklong, half-day camps, held using UTD’s Microsoft Teams.
  • The camps are held during school breaks during the academic year and in the summer and allow students to participate and learn while away from school.
  • Our virtual biology camps for middle and high schoolers are held in collaboration with the Smithsonian Education and Outreach Office which allows us virtual access to Smithsonian research facilities and museums.
  • AP- experts teach AP-Biology Camps and cover various important topics in the syllabus with designated time for solving test questions.
  • Career workshops are a regular feature of the biology camps allowing students to learn from experts in various fields of science and healthcare.
