This Masters program is flexible and offers an innovative curriculum (see degree requirements):
- There are no funded graduate/teaching/research assistantships available for MS students.
- Limited financial support in the form of scholarships and awards are provided. Additional scholarships are available for US citizens and permanent residents.
- Our students, both domestic and international, have a strong record of career placement and advancement following graduation.
- To enhance career prospects, students can pursue Graduate Certificate in Genomics, and possibly use the certificate courses to fulfill the MS degree requirements.
- Eligible UT Dallas students can fast track into this MS program. See the Fast Track page for details.
- NSM Career Success Center is available to support professional development and experiential learning of students.
- This program accepts Quick Admit applications from eligible UT Dallas graduates of qualifying BS programs.
- GRE test score is not required for admission.
Placement

Financial Support
NSM McDermott MS Admission Fellowship is offered to support highly qualified MS students. This fellowship is awarded on a competitive basis at the time of admission. All applicants are automatically considered for this fellowship, and a separate application is not required. Nonresidents of the State of Texas who receive this fellowship are also eligible to be considered for a Competitive Scholarship Waiver. This waiver enables them to pay tuition at the resident rate, but its granting is not assured.
